Hi guys,

I'm looking for a tool that would allow me to setup multiple open windows on my desktop and save the layout (location, sizes, etc), so i can later click a button and change from one layout to another. For example: one layout for win7 administration, another for web development, etc.

I searched Google for a while now, and i'm very confused. What i found are programs that allow you to config preferred "grid zones", which you then can use to move your windows manually in. Quite cumbersome, with no possibility to save the layout of multiple windows.

Does such a tool even exist? Logic dictates a "yes", but i know there are practical limitations of what one can do in Windows 7.

PS: Lightroom for example never remembers it's window position and size (drives me crazy!). It only remembers if it's maximized or not. This is one of the many motivations that drive me to look for a "window manager" of some sort.)

I would take a look at WinSize2

I believe it's possible to have more than one template. I thought I noticed users posting and swapping them but it was a couple years ago when I tried the program. I know once you set it up you can have it so program windows open to the location and size in the template.

Edit: I also found this one that should be an exact hit, if it works:

You're welcome. :)

btw you may have to run it as administrator. I tried it out quickly and I got an error unless I checked Run As Administrator in Properties.
