Hello experts! ;) Help needed.

INTRODUCTION:
Some time ago I noticed BHO-things like toolbar and installed aplication. I was searching web where there is said that BHO is related to a trojan so I uninstalled BHO using CCleaner and nothing happens (positive nor negative). Some of these files still exist in my hard drive. So it begins...

PROBLEM:
What to do with these BHO files? Should I remove them completely or left them doing something I don't know what?

Thank you for your time!

If you right click on any of the folder and click properties, what does say the target is? What location or program are they attched to?

Exactly, First have you tried Malwarebytes or Spybot S&D? If not give them a try to see if they can clean them out for you. BHO files, from what I have read are attached to spy/malware. So go down this road first.

If they find nothing then for the files/folders in question take a look at the properties and see if it pointing to any software you know of. If not you can try to delete it and let it sit in the recycle bin. Do some testing, open programs, reboot etc. If all is well then you can drop it out of the recycle bin. If it causes problems then restore it from the recycle bin.

After all this let us know where you are at and we can either call it good or roll our sleeves up and get at it again :)

Those toolbars have to do with Firefox and Google Chrome. BHO's (the good one's) are "Browser Help Objects"

I ran a deep system scan with BitDefender Total Sec. 2010.,and found nothing. Only some password-protected files. I think I can trust them and say there are no spyware there. Any further suggestions?
Maybe I'm just afraid of something I noticed for the first time :)

So no reason to worry about?
Nice. I'll still keep an eye on that. It's hard not to be suspicious nowadays...
For now, thank you ALL! ;)

Just to put your mind at ease ... download DDS from one of these links:

Mirror 1 Mirror 2 Mirror 3
  • Disable any script blocking protection
  • Double click the dds icon to run the tool.
  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
    1. DDS.txt
    2. Attach.txt <-- this will be minimized in the task tray
  • Save both reports to your desktop.
Include the contents of both logs in your next post.
