I know there is a tool available to test my computer to see if it's capable of running Windows 7. My question is this: Is there a tool available that I can run on the server that will test all machines on my network? With the free Windows Upgrade Advisor, I must visit each computer. Just looking for a way to do this without visiting each computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

How many pcs are you talking about and what`s their age. Most business`s tend to have the same computer models. Well at least the ones I`ve worked at.

I haven't seen anything like this, but it probably shouldn't be needed. You could run the Upgrade Advisor on one to see if the software environment reports any issues. You can also judge how Windows 7 will run just by the hardware specs of the computers. You are late to the party with Windows 7, so I would have to think you would be fine, unless you are running old systems.

Also, I tend to not bother with Upgrade Advisor anyway. It gives misleading results. For example, it might say a printer is incompatible, even though it really means you would need to get Windows 7 drivers for it.

Good info from all.

ADDRAM: We're looking at approximately 800 PC's at multiple locations. Some new machines, but some old. So kinda mixed.

Nuetron16: I haven't looked at that tool, but I will now. If I download it to my PC, will it scan just my pc or does it have the capability to scan all PC's in my environment?

DeaconFrost: I agree with your assessment of Windows Advisor. I ran it on mine and it did give misleading info, specifically printer info like you mentioned. But I thought it was worth a shot.

Basically, my budget is small. I'm trying to see which of my machines I would need to replace. Some of my machines can handle the upgrade right now, that I'm sure of. I haven't even been given the go ahead to do this, just in the exploratory stage right now.
