I use the program SIV. Normally hovering over text produces some useful tooltip info. For probably a month or so I lost this capability. When I created a new user account the tooltip came back. Unfortunately rebuilding my desktop with a new account is a real pain in the a$$. If it's simply a Registry entry I haven't found it yet.
Another thing that probably is related is that with the new account I will get popup tooltips for programs running in my tray. These tooltips are annoying and I wonder if I found some way to get rid of them (long forgotten) which also got rid of them in SIV.
Other programs with tooltips work fine. I'm hoping my problem is simply a Registry entry. The 'ShowInfoTip' Reg entry is enabled.
Any ideas how to get tooltips working again in SIV? IF there is a nice clean way of creating a new user account and then migrating my current account over to it without losing anything that would be acceptable. I attempted to manually move stuff but it seems programs that are registered lose their registration and settings resulting in reinstalling the programs which I really don't want to do. Another PITA.
