I've been terribly pleased with Windows 7's new feature that lets you shuffle top rated photos as a background. I just turned it on and it ran through all the drives on my machine and picked out the top rated ones, shuffling them automatically. All I had to do was derate something I didn't like.

I just installed a new hard drive for additional media and moved some things onto it. All of a sudden the Top Rated Photos Search can't see any images, not even if I browse to a file I know for a fact has hundreds of images in it. And it switches back to the Windows Desktop backgrounds even after I save.

Very confused...

It's possible that the new drive is not included in the index. This may help: Windows Search Configure Use

In fact it was not. Let's see if it helps. Thanks.

All the drives with images are in the index search, and it has rebuilt the index overnight just in case. It's still no go. When I used to select Top Rated Photos Search it just automatically found them all. Now it insists that the folder is empty, even when I point it to a location full of images.

Are the pictures you're looking for appearing in the Pictures library? If not, try this:

Library Include Folder

A HAH!

I had changed the name of the Pictureslibrary to Images because frankly it made more sense. But apparently the Top Rated feature won't work unless you use the default Library name. Thanks, oh master of online evilness. I will tell Mukor of your generosity and perhaps he will not slay you too soon.

Moral: don't change the names of the default Libraries.
