Hi all
Anybody tried implementing this sort of stuff yet. Looks interesting but does it actally work.

Made a typo in the title of the post -- should be anonymous SURFING (my keyboard has v /f swapped for Lang = E).

Onion Routing

should "Bollix" up those Kangaroo courts etc etc.

Cheers
jimbo

Yep. Been using it for years. The latency can be a pain but I get around that mostly by using a custom tor file. Basically, I choose the servers I wish to use as my entry and exit nodes based on bandwidth availability and other characteristics and force tor to use them. It works fairly well, especially since I block any and all low speed servers also. I have very long string of servers for this. PM me if you'd like to set up your tor similar.

If you want true anonymity though, you must block all flash (javascript), java, basically most plugins....easily with the use of the noscript plugin for Firefox.

Then there's the RefControl plugin for Firefox which disallows the sites you hit to see where you are coming from (previous URL.)

UserAgentSwitcher is another great plugin as it changes your reported browser to anything you want it to. In other words, you could be reported as a Mac using Safari when you are on 7 using FF.

The tor entry lines are as follows...add a line in the tor file to implement:

StrictEntryNodes 1
StrictExitNodes 1
ExcludeNodes servername1,servername2,servername3 etc... as many as you want but word wrap has to be off in notepad to work best when editing.
ExitNodes servername1,servername2,servername3 etc...
EntryNodes servername1,servername2,servername3 etc...

You put javascript in brackets, but really there's no need to block that as on its own it can't leak your IP. I tend to use quickjava and flashblock over noscript, as noscipt is either all or nothing.

Thanks Guys
I'll try setting some of this stuff up over the weekend.

Am busy D/L RC (both 64 and 32 bit versions) -- will install these and then go with this.

After RC I don't think I'll be looking for any more "Leaks" unless anything major changes between RC and Retail so I'd expect to use this OS for around a year.

Cheers
