Haha.. I just Googled the part # you posted. Toshiba won't post that kind of info, they don't even do motherboard repair. They just change boards out. It would take someone with an electronics background and schematics to figure that out, like the guy whose post you found.

Maybe I'll just buy 3 for 10 and a cheap soldering iron and give it a crack myself! (I have solder!!)

The rest of what you said - well it figures - throwaway society.
I'm interested in doing an electronics course so I may start looking for one.
