My wife's Toshiba C660 (Win 7 HP SP1) has a numeric keypad, but the Num Lock is off when the machine boots. The numeric keypad thus acts as additional cursor keys plus Home / PG UP / PG DWN etc.
How can I get the machine to boot up with the Num Lock ON??
I've tried the BIOS and I've even tried a registry tweak or two in the past to no avail.
Kinda defeats the object of a numeric keypad IMHO if it simply acts as another set of cursor keys.
Any help gratefully accepted.
Cheers

EDIT: Hi Roy,
There isn't a Keyboard Indicator setting - only an InitialKeyboardSetting REG-SZ 2
On my VAIO laptop (which doesn't have a numeric keyboard) I get the following:
Same Registry key: InitialKeyboardIndicators but the value 2147483648
Would this work in the C660 or brick it?

change the 2147etc to 2, thats what i change it from on my acer .
You will have to create a new value in that case
Right click in a blank space
New will appear make the settings the same as your other comp
Roy
Edit just looked at my mrs C660 settings they are the same as your Vaio
The laptop in question - Toshiba C660 - already has a value of 2.
Are you suggesting altering it to the value on the VAIO (ie 2147483648) which doesn't have a numeric keypad?

No dont change the Vaio,
YOU NEED the InitialKeyboardSetting on the C660, thats what sets numlock on boot
IF its not there you will have to add it as i said before
(try 2 or long2 no)
AS in your screenshot copied below
You must also REBOOT the comp for the changes to update.

on the C660 should be EXACTLY the same as the Vaio
Thanks Roy - will try this later today and report back (not by that PC at the moment)
