Has anyone tried out these features? I tried speech recognition and from my experience it was pretty bad... maybe it was just my microphone but pretty much every other word was wrong even with clear diction. Is there any difference between speech in W7 and Vista?

I’m running system seven ultimate . I’m very pleased with the speech recognition . Some pointers that I would like to add are: you have to have a high quality mike and it’s Gotta be the kind that Holds the business end of the mike about an inch from your mouth . Not in direct line with the mouth but below it wore off to the Side . So do the setup On microphones Before you start dictating . The dictation part on system seven works very well . Also the speech program learns as you use it . In order for it to learn you have two follow the procedure of how to correct mistakes in the text . It does work it is just that you have to learn how to use it . I like it because my typing in scrappy and I can’t spell worth a damn . I am using speech to write this response . There are some errors in it .

i love the speech features, i'd tried many of the previous versions and was never pleased, but now with windows 7 i think they really got it right. i can't stand not having it as it just makes everything so much easier. now honestly the touch screen i haven't tried but the idea to me seems more novelty than useful. of course as more multi-touch input devices become available this is likely to change. personally i'd like something similar to my bamboo pen tablet(i think they actually have these now, i just haven't actually seen them for sell) that can support multi-touch. the idea of reaching across my desk and leaving fingerprints on my monitors just doesn't appeal to me.

I have it in my Windows 7 Home edition, the lessons work fine, that is the dictating, but once I want to use it in real life, if cannot find the langauges. EVEN -though they are all set to US English.
So it does NOT wok with windows 7, 64 bit.

I'm not using it for dictation (english isn't my native language), but it can be handy, let say when you are like in bad, you want change the song, or at night, when watching a movie, and you don't want to get up to turn your PC off. ( Of course we can use and wireless mouse:), but it's kind of interesting). Nice feature anyway:D
