touchpad too sensitive, cursor jumping

Did you try the solution posted above your post?

I fixed my sensitivity problem by going to the pen and touch settings (search for pen and touch in the start menu) and disabling everything.

What i found was that both the pen and touch and the ELAN drivers were watching the touchpad and they were both trying to move the mouse. The jumping around was the result of the two fighting each other.

Now it is actually a really nice touchpad.

My first recommendation is to go to your computer manufacture website support and download your computer updates.
All I did was update the Touchpad drivers. Mine were missing so when these were installed the problem disappeared.

I love this thread, saves me having to go back tomorrow with my new HP Pentium N3540 Quardcore laptop.

I brought this machine because it's only £200 in Thailand and currently £280 / £360 in the UK...

I've been really happy with my HP6 Pavilion i3 laptop that has served me well these last 3 years but wanted to buy a back up machine for when HP6 is ready to go to computer heaven, I think I have another 2 - 3 years with HP6.

I've now got my N3450 running just as good as my HP6, both have been upgraded to 8 meg ram and the faster processor / quad core technology on my N3450 out does the HP6. (which cost me £400 3 years ago).

I configured my N3450 with Windows Ultimate 7 (for £6 via a Thai hacker store) so that it's an almost perfect clone of the HP6, rendering out After FX and Premiere files at a faster rate, despite the slightly better graphics card on the HP6. Video editing is all about PROCESSOR power, not playback rate.

To be honest the new Pavilion range are a bit of a rip off... okay so my N3450 doesn't have the card readers and beatport speakers that come with the new Pavilion, but so what? I'm using the creative pro I-FX 5.1 surround sound system / USB card...

Anyway, back to the original point, I had the same problem, with the cursor jumping around, but didn't know it was that - thought it was a bug within word threads/ character strings... I did a test with an external wifi keyboard and no problem... you can also PARK the cursor out of the document window to avoid future problems....

THANK YOU VERY MUCH....
