Track pad on stops working about 2-3 minutes after starting Windows 7

I have a Sony VAIO VPCEH. The track pad works upon bootup for about 2-3 minutes after Windows starts. It then abruptly stops working.

I've already tried disabling everything in the startup menu.

Has anyone else encountered a similar problem? If so, how was it resolved?

A quick and definitive test:
Download Ubuntu and save it on a USB stick. Boot into Ubuntu (There are 2 options, you do not need to install it. Just run it from the stick).
If the trackpad works in Ubuntu then you know it is a Windows or driver problem.
If it does not work in Ubuntu then you know it is a hardware problem.

After all this time, I figured out why the track pad wasn't working.

The track pad on/off isn't in Windows Control Panel. It's at Start/All Programs/VAIO Control Center/Keyboard & Mouse/Pointing Devices.

I must have disabled it there when I first got the computer and completely forgot about it.

Sometimes we are our own worst enemy, huh? Not poking fun, I've done a lot of stuff like that, such as forgetting to flip the power button on a PSU and wonder why it won't start.
