I bought this laptop 20 days ago and I defragmented my drives as well as did error checking on both of them but, still the transfer speed of laptop in the pc as well as through usb 3 is slow. It is around 27Mbps. Can't find any reason for it.:(

My Pc config is:
8 GB RAM
Intel Core i7
AMD 7730m 2GB
1TB HDD
Windows 7 Home Premium x64

I maybe a long way off but that sounds like the old XP problem of not haveing the DMA xfer rate ticked.

OP, in device manager under Universal Serial Bus controllers, any USB 3.0 items there? If not, missing drivers to take advantage of it, possibly.

See Intel's website specs/downloads for that motherboard in particular, chipset included!
See if upgrade for BIOS is available also, and might need to look in BIOS settings for USB related fare to enable.
