I want to transfer the original state of my installation to an external drive and make a current backup to take its place on my HD.I wish to know which files I need to transfer, I have 3 in my present New Volume backup partition being DELL-PC, WindowsImageBackup and MediaID.bin,,,,I was wondering if I need to copy all three files/folders before overwriting my new backup

You should copy all three files there.let the next backup start fresh

Alteratively if you have plenty of space you can just rename WindowsImageBackup to something else. You would have to rename it back before a restore.
