Later today I plan to follow this http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/149969-ssd-install-transfer-operating-system.html guide to transfer my Windows 7 32bit operating system from my HDD to a new 60gb SSD.

My only concern is that I don't have a windows 7 install disk, are they necessary for this method to work? I rashly purchased a windows 7 64bit upgrade hoping to do a clean install (using one of the work around methods for upgrade as full install) but after a few hours figured out you cannot use the upgrade download to go from 32 to 64bit. As a result I have no disk (old purchase) and the wrong upgrade download. If anyone could let me know whats required for the transfer that would be great.

Thanks, apprecaite the time.

It looks to me like that tutorial uses imaging to transfer the operating system to the new SSD.

I don't see why that would require a Windows installation disc.
