Transferring videos into my cellphone produces weird audio files

Hello, I'm having this issue where, whenever I copy/paste a video from the PC into my cellphone's MiniSD Card, it would produce weird unrelated audio files from my Musics folders. This is a result from an incredibly convoluted chain of problems that I've also been searching answers for since December.


In-depth explanation: I would convert videos (converting saves space for the most part) from the hard drive to said cellphone's MiniSD Card through the MiniUSB cable, but it would come out as audio files from Panorama Cotton's OST and some game's files from my Musics folder; these audio files are perfectly readable I might add, and reloading the page makes them disappear. If I were to pull out, then replug the MiniUSB cord, the video files would turn out just fine and readable in the device.

Plus, if I would drag a whole folder instead of the individual video files, it'd be impossible to convert the videos; the folder itself also come out as an audio file, and Windows Explorer makes an error that it has to either ignore or stop the conversion of the videos. Again replugging the cable, the folder would turn out fine, and then I can drag the video files inside it and convert them.

The cellphone I use is a Samsung Galaxy S3.


Source of the problem? Maybe?: I'm under the impression that, after having searched since December, it may be due to having broken Windows codecs, and it's also the cause of not having any video thumbnails, so I'm interested in reinstalling/repairing these codecs.


Problems: This all started to happen due to a broken WMI, which I've then been told to use Tweaking.com (Windows Repair) to fix the broken WMI, but using that tool resulted into me receiving more and more problems in a chain, such as Windows Explorer reverting back to default size and display, and Firefox pesting me as wanting to be the default browser despite being it. Restoring the Registries before using the program wouldn't solve these issues, or I guess it was that WMI would never get fixed if I don't use it, so it was a double-edged sword. In no way would I ever use that tool again though, it scarred my computer.

Having two homebrew Codecs for MKV files: MEANWHILE, as if that wasn't enough, I was searching for a way to play MKV files in Windows Media Player, and I stumbled upon that thread in these forums (no, I didn't wanted to play these on VLC, that's why):

I first tried CCCP, which I think wasn't working, so then I installed Shark007's Advanced Codecs, but without uninstalling CCCP. After installing the two, I could play MKV files in WMP, so I uninstalled CCCP, thinking it was of no use for me, but it made MKV files unreadable again, so I thought I needed the two.

Because of the problems I was having with Tweaking.com, I had to restore Registries, which afterwards made transferring videos onto my cellphone a strange experience, and video thumbnails weren't working anymore. This could be due to having two homebrew codecs, but I couldn't uninstall them unless I reinstalled them first.

I even had to delete two Registries, as instructed by the bottom of this thread here, to fully uninstall CCCP:

When I uninstall the two homebrew codecs, the problems aren't resolved. I reinstalled Shark007's codecs again, but it only fixes video thumbnails, and it's just a temporary, not rock-solid fix. Uninstalling and reinstalling it does no more good, however it alone can play MKV files.


Thumbnail Cache thread: There is a thread on Sevenforums that talks about resetting the thumbnail cache, see below, but that did no good, and as I've said I resorted to Shark007 to temporarly fix that.

It's been since December that I've been looking for solutions, and after all of these threads, I would call it a greater tale than Lord of the Rings, and I've had my "Bon Voyage".

I'm not asking to pirate or hack windows programs, I know to put these subjects off Sevenforums, but I'm asking for help to fix my folder problems, which are relating to Windows 7 itself, plus I've also seen Tweaking.com, the biggest source of my problems, referenced on respectable tech sites, ironically.

The first issue just happened to pinpoint that I had a broken WMI. I've put the links here only as evidence of my research, not to support cracking. I just thought that I had to prove that I've done my part to research threads after threads and browsing though forums for solutions, as I've been told a few times before, and it just never crossed my mind to think of it as "hacking" instead of as solely reference material. Not to discredit the support I've had before, but tech people told me to use Tweaking.com - Windows Repair, which I believe is more to blame.

It's now 2 months that I've been looking for answers.

I've edited my first post though to remove the reference to the tool if that's to make it more appropriate, my bad, I'm not here to cause trouble.
