Tri Boot Dos, Xp & Windows 7 - remove XP

Hi All
Just found your forum today - I figure I would see if I could get my questions answer here.

I have 3 O/S on the Hard drive. DOS, XP & Windows 7 in that order.
Dos is 1GB & Primary Partition
Windows XP is 15GB & Logical Driver
Windows 7 is 80GB & is Primary Partition
There is a 4th Primary Partition of 50 GB

The windows 7 \Boot folder is on the DOS Partition.

I attached a screen shot of Drive partitions table.

When Windows 7 comes up it hides the DOS partition & makes itself the C: Drive.

I want to remove the Windows XP Partition - I think I can just delete it and all should be good, though I am not sure.

I will use partition software to move the windows 7 partition to being of free space & then expand it. Keeping the DOS partition is OK since it has the \Boot stuff on it.

Right clicking the XP One and Format it. Then you can Extend the partition to the side of it. Or as you said - you may use some Partition software

The best Partition manager to use for Win7 is free Partition Wizard bootable CD. Back up your files and a Win7 Backup Image if you want as resizing operations can fail.

Boot PW CD, allow files to load, select 1 for Screen Res, rightclick XP partition to Delete, OK.

Now if you want to remove DOS partition to recover both it's HD space along with XP space and System MBR into Win7, rightclick it to Delete, OK. If you do this, next rightclick Win7 partition to Modify>Set to Active. OK.

Next rightclick Win7 partition>Resize>drag left grey border all the way to the left over deleted XP space (and DOS space if you chose to delete it), OK. Apply all steps.

Win7 will likely not start until you repair/recover MBR. Boot Win7 DVD Repair console or REpair CD, click through to Recovery TOols list to run Startup Repair up to 3 separate times with reboots until Win7 starts.
