I hope your right, as a trusted member here on the site gave me the link to the very same and I have no reason not to trust him.

It's damn hard to know what your getting if you don't have/know the exact name of the original ISO made by some one, in this case, SoLoR.

Is that how SoLoR named it?

7260.0.x86fre.win7_rtm.090612-2110.client_en-us.ultimate.SoLoR-custom.iso.torrent
that's a good iso made from the vhd image.

All valid arguments, really, but we all know that VHD is a virtual HARD DISK, and some really clever coding skills are required to convert it to ISO, so that it can be used to install Windows.

Personally, I'd find it far easier to just mount the VHD into Virtual PC and use it from there.

Or, as I believe was the original intention of leaking a VHD file instead of ISO, is to allow Windows 7 users to virtually mount and boot directly from the VHD. I do not recall where, But I remember reading that Windows 7 had the ability to use VHD files as boot devices...

Me? I'll stick with 7100 until GA on 22 October 2009...

Hi, i'm not sure that the issue is my HD since I am able to fully install a clean XP on the same PC that I tried to load solar's .iso.

It must be my hardware.

Any ideas?

I would try downloading & installing Windows 7 from MS.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/download.aspx

It doesn't cost anything and only requires a live id account.

If you burn that to DVD and it installs, I would use it.

I doubt it's a hard drive issue, it might be a bad download or DVD. Which is why I would try the official release.

If not, try redownloading the iso of your choice and reburning an install DVD.
