Triple Boot? Windows, Ubuntu, and Backtrack

Hi guys.. i would like to know how to triple boot my laptop.. i already have windows 7 and ubuntu 10.04 LTS installed.. but would like to install backtrack.. (for uhm.. gaming, yeah.. for gaming.. ) . . .
I dual booted a ton of times but the last time i did, i accidentally wiped one of my drives... something i want to avoid this time.. so this time, id like someone to walk me through it step by step if possible.. i can post about anything you need...

lol, gaming. Anyways, i think the best way to get this information is at the Ubuntu forums, you'll get many better answers there than at a windows forum, considering Ubuntu is probably set as the main OS (auto boots when times out), Someone may know, but just a heads up

Just install it as you normally would - GRUB will manage 3 as easily as it will 2 OS's.

Hi there mate,

I have a triple boot which includes Backtrack 5 R3.
Word of advise: Backtrack was NOT made for gaming...full stop. BT is made for Networks Penetration Testing, such as diagnosing the security failures in Ethernets and Wireless such as WEP's, WAP and WAP2-PSK.

You would definitely NOT get the same experience playing games in such an OS as you would in any Windows platform due to driver problems, etc. It is simply not designed for such purpose.

However, if you do want to install it to experience with it and learn more about Network Security, create a new partition, of say 30/40GB, and just install the ISO to it.

You can get the ISO [OS] from here: Downloads

In relation to the install, I would leave the Windows partition alone, then create the 30/40GB partition for Backtrack and simply install not worrying about swap or root, etc, and in last install Ubuntu and there yes you can create your boot, root, home and swap partitions.

Then get this Boot Repair Disk and choose Ubuntu to be your default OS. You can get that from here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Boot-Repair

ditto.. yes.. i dont usually make mistakes but last time i installed ubuntu, i erased one of my drives by mistake.. so thats why i wanted to go slow this time..

To be honest with you, I'm not up to date with creating new partitions without formatting at least one of them. Last time I did this was with Partition Magic, and I'm not even sure if that's viable anymore. I'll look around see if I can find something recommended.

Your current Linux distro should have Gparted. Gparted well allow you can create a additional logical drive for the Backtrack install. You only need a single Swap file for any number of distro's. You can run Backtrack as a live cd also, or on a stick.

thanks will try.. was rooting my nexus 4 so i could use droiddrive to install backtrack since installing it through a ssd will be faster than using a disk or a usb..
