trouble editing doc' on XP

what addition of windows word do i need to be able to edit doc' sent via email, fax, scanned from office jet and what format works best? txt, tiff, xps ???

I am not exactly clear what you are asking, but if you right-click a .doc attachment in an email and save it to your hard disk, you can then load and edit it in MS Word.

If that doesn't answer your question, perhaps you could explain a little more. :)

i tried and this is the message i got. works cannot open"C:/Doc& settings etc the file mayformat may not be supported by any of the converters or file may be corrupt. any suggestion. u can email me @ [email protected] if it would be easier thank you les

Sounds like you have MS Works.

You could try using OpenOffice - Free download here: OpenOffice.org - The Free and Open Productivity Suite . If I remember correctly, I think it will open .doc documents. :)
