Hi,

First time here....hope someone has some ideas for me.

Just recently my computer can no longer "see" files or sub-folders when I'm inside a program like Excel, Word, Photoshop, etc. In other words, when I go to open a file, I have to drag it from explorer or double click on it in explorer. From inside the programs themselves, I can't see either sub directories or the files in them to open them using the menus within the various programs.

(I can see all the files on my hard drives and the network via windows explorer with no problem....)

I just did a major virus eradication a couple of weeks ago, but the problem started after all of that. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thank you
Jay

You may need to do additional cleaning. Since you don't state the program(s) or process used previously, I would suggest using a well known on-line AV, like Kaspersky's product, and MalwareBytesAntiMalware – Chameleon.

Try this:

1. Click Start
orb.png

2. In the search box, type cmd
3. In the list that appears, right-click on cmd.exe and choose Run as administrator
4. In the command window that opens, type sfc /scannow and hit enter.

Report the output from the command window once it finishes.

Then reboot and see if the issues is solved.
