Try to install different programs get error.

Ive tried to install several programs. During installation I get a popup stating "User 'SYSTEM' has previously initiated an install for product 'AVG 2011'. That user will need to run that install again before they can use that product. Your current install will now continue. click (OK). Then another popup "Error An installation for AVG 2011 is currently suspended. You must undo the changes made by that installation to continue. Do you want to undo those changes? Answer Y or N. I ve done both. The first thing I notice is the second hand on my desktop clock freezes then a short time later the mouse locks. Num Lock continues to work. Can't do anything. I reset. Computer seems to work fine. Until I install something. I also cant uninstall things..er something. During an uninstall computer just locks up. No errors. Ive tried to re-install AVG same problem. Any thoughts on a solution?

Welcome to SevenForums Demetros.
Boot from a System Repair Disc.
Go to the folder which contains AVG and delete everything there. Delete the folder.

There is more to be done, but let us know the outcome of this step.

After running "Resource and Performance Monitor" I get this..


Error

Ive looked for every bit of that AVG file, can't find anymore.

I uninstalled both of those drivers in the hidden non plug and play drivers list. Same overall problem as before.

To gather info, use SIW or Speccy or System Info

Add the word laptop or desktop or netbook to the
“system manufacturer” block, for example,
Toshiba Satellite L305D notebook.

Provide full windows version info, for example:
MS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader,
Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor, etc

Ive tried the 32 bit the 64 bit AVG remover and the AVG Identity Protection Remover. Same problem.

Don't worry you haven't deleted anything. You've simply told Win 7 to not run those others at startup time.

Ok. WE will get rid of AVG the hard way.

I've never had avg installed but I assume that they create a folder called AVG in both \program files , \program files (x86), and \ProgramData.

Locate those and delete the AVG folders. If avg balks, then boot into safe mode and try from there. If it still balks, then boot from the System Repair Disc and delete them.

AFterwareds, run CCleaner's Registry Cleaner portion to get rid of least some of the AVG entries.

Ive done that already. except the \ProgramData. Where is that? I can't seem to find it.

In your SystemDrive, which is probably C:

Do following:
WIN + E | Organize (in top menu bar) | Folder and Search Options |
View tab | under Files and Folders, check or uncheck your settings to agree with this snippet and then APPLY button OK button

OK..Done. I did not find anything in \ProgramData but I did find a $AVG folder. I deleted that. Lets see.
