Hey guys I am trying to dual boot 7 64bit and xp 32bit I have 7 up and running on a 90gb ssd and I have two 500gb WD drives in RAID 0 where I am wanting to create a 60gb partition to run xp. I have setup my raid array in bios but for some reason the boot option is grayed out. I installed xp anyway and got it to boot but as soon as I start loading drivers or updates then it crashes mother board is a xfx750i.
Thanks
Paul

We see a lot of problems with Win7 install to RAID, especially with Dual Boot. You wil get no performance gain with RAID that isn't realized by the SSD for Win7, and with built-in Drive Imaging RAID's iffy redundancy is redundant.

Better to un-RAID and Install Win7 to SSD, place User folders on HD if necessary: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/18629-user-folders-change-default-location.html

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.htmlXP is nearly XPired, so try migrating your XP programs over to WIn7, installing if necessary in http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.html or virtualizing XP using XP Mode built into Ultimate, Virtual Box, or Virtual Player.

If you need to keep XP and it is tied up in the RAID, try copying it to a partition on the HD using free Partition Wizard bootable CD, then add it to a Win7 Dual Boot using EasyBCD 2.0.

thanks for the help I have been debating on just that

Alright I cut off RAID and installed XP on one of the 500gb hdd's in a 80gb partition everything was starting off good until I install the first batch of updates now when I try to boot to XP it crashes. I was thinking that it was my RAID configuration but now I know it has to be something else any ideas would be very helpful..
Thanks
Paul

Ya I tried the saffe mode thing and that dose not work eather will not let me in long enuff to change anything. I am pretty sure it is one of the drivers cause if I install the drivers from the motherboard disk it crashes. If I just install the network adaptor driver it is ok until I start updating and get half way done asuming that it picks up a drivers and after restart will not stay in windows long befor crashing.. I have just installed Vista os I had from and laptop that now has 7 :D on the two 500gb drives setup in raid 0 and so far so good...
