I know this has been asked before, but I can't recall the exact terminology to try to search for if a solution has been found since 2010. I tried variations with Bing and Google for a few minutes. Please feel free to point me to a thread with a solution. In Windows 7, when you select several files, the "details" pane will show you how much space the files take up...up until you select 16 or more files. Then it makes you click on the "show more details". This is extremely annoying and inconvenient if I'm trying to back up a bunch of files to a DVD or flash drive and need to maximize the number of files on each volume. Has anybody finally found a registry hack or a third party patch that will disable this "feature"? I recall Microsoft called it a feature put in because of "user anxiety". It was NOT in XP and I've hated it since 2009. I know about Classic Shell, but that is using a greatsword instead of a scalpel or cutting off an arm because of a hangnail.

You need to adjust your opinion of Classic Shell. It's an essential core app :sarc:Not a greatsword instead of a scalpel or like cutting off an arm because of a hangnail. Windows just isn't good enough any more without it.

If we were talking Windows 8.0, I'd agree, especially before they patched it so you can use the Start menu again. Even Windows 8.1 and 10 it is useful. I am talking about Windows 7 however.
