Greetings,
I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate on an older computer I'd been using as a "media center" for my 42" widescreen television. Under XP Pro, the TV was recognized as a PnP Monitor using a VGA cable.
Under Windows 7, however, it seems that the TV will only work as a projector and nothing more. To get it to display I have to plug in my Acer desktop monitor and then set it up as dual screen.
If I start up Windows 7 using only the TV then the screen goes blank and "Not Support" starts to flash across the TV.
I am using a pretty old video card (Radeon 9600 Pro), but Windows 7 automatically installed drivers from less than a year ago. As this is now considered legacy hardware by ATI, this is as good as it's going to get.
Anyone have any suggestions, solutions, or workarounds? I'm currently building a shortcut to the Display Switcher with a parameter to use the external display. I'm going to put this is the startup folder and hope for the best.
Computer Specs:
AMD Athlon XP 3000+ @ 2.004 GHz
1.00 GB Memory
ATI Radeon 9600 Pro
All Windows Updates downloaded
Best available drivers installed
