TV Tuner woes

For the last month or so after doing a system restore, my USB Tuner (Hauppauge 950Q) will not work in 7MC. If I watch a QAM channel I get the message, "All tuners are currently in use..." Clicking on the "Title not available" does nothing. Analog channels give the message "Viewing or Listening Conflict No tuner available to satisfy request". Originally after the System Restore, I would receive a .NET framework error that pointed me to a settings.xml file that was missing. I searched the problem online and put in the new settings.xml file found here. 'TVServices.Core.SystemSettings' threw an exception - Hauppauge UK Forum (User -> User Support)

The only thing this solved was the 'TVServices.Core.System.... threw an exception' no longer came up.

I found something else that said the recording directory in Tasks -> Settings -> TV -> Recorder -> Recorder Storage should have an appropriate folder to record to listed, which mine does not.


Any help would be appreciated!

Are you using Win7 Media Center?
Have you installed the Win7 program for Media Center and your TV Tunder card from the website?
Support for WinTV-HVR-950Q
Seems they have a special download
Select the tab that says Win7 Media Ceenter Install.

Have you tried a complete uninstall of the card and all the software and drivers and reboot?

same with me, so i just got a haupauge 1600 pci tuner to replace my 950 and it works perfect. dump the usb tuner.
