I know this isn't a support forum but darn if I haven't been looking for DAYS for an answer to this, and the Seven forums is my go-to for W7 stuff, so was hoping one of the smart folks here might answer this simple question....

Am using W7 on a laptop, so using Twitter from the website (no special app). I have ALL email notifications disabled, and have for months. Still, I get an email login notification every time I sign in. Is there no way to stop these?

Favorite libation, nachos, potato skins, cheese n fries, and all other appetizers on me for bringing up a support question in the chill room...

For anyone interested I received a rely from a tech board that notifications of login cannot be prevented on Twitter.

Time to take another look at this issue - assuming that the information that you report from elsewhere is correct and you cannot prevent generation of the mail ... the next best thing is to remove it from your email client, this depends on the client you use, most, if not all, desktop clients, ( Outlook, Thunderbird Etc), and a lot of online mail systems support Rules of some kind.

What I do with any automatic mail that I receive, where I wish to keep the account live, but do not wish to read the information emails, is set-up a rule in the general format - If the mail is from x and contains "phrase" in the Subject then Delete the email.

This stops me seeing the mail but does not send any reply back to the sender ( as marking as spam would do )

Another variation is to set the Rule to mark the email as read and move to a dump folder so that you can at a later date check through the contents in case there is anything worth reading

All good stuff. In my case, however, I wanted to avoid receiving the mail at all, as I don't share my personal email address with websites, so this is going to a free webmail address, and the less info they receive the happier I am. Setting a rule will stop me from seeing it, but won't stop compilation of profiling stats of the website. Some ppl don't care about that stuff. In which case your suggestions are a good solution.
