I have a radion hd 240 graphics card connected to my monitor vga to dvi.
i can connect to my tv and use that as a monitor using the same above.
I previously connected to my monitor and tv using the straight vga cable to the tv and monitor as well.
Now that i have a graphics card rather than using the on board graphics, i want to use the above graphics card to connect to my monitor and would want the on board graphics to connect to the tv using the vga connection.
Is this possible as i have tryed the dual monitor thing on w7 but so far no joy?

It appears that my second monitor is not being detected by w7?
how do i get it to detect it?
previous set up was vga to vga on monitor and i changed cables to the tv which was also vga to vga.
I now have the above graphics card and connect to my monitor using this vga-dvi.
I want to use the on board vga connection to connect to the tv as before vga to vga.
~This would mean i have the monitor connected to the graphics card and the tv acting as a monitor would be connected via the on board vga to vga.
Any ideas?

That is not possible, because windows wont work with two different display drivers simultaneously.

Depends on what chipset is on the motherboard as to whether you can use the onboard video with a video card,

http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-cards/195043-dual-monitor-setting.html#post1640504

And no Windows 7 doesn't have a problem with drivers for two different video cards. The only problem is when you try and use a WDDM 1.0 driver with a WDDM 1.1 driver, the 1.0 driver overrides the 1.1.

chipset is intel q965/q963 express (broadwater) ,i dont know about the drivers and am not to savvy on motherboards so is the above board able to display duel monitors and if so how?

One of these?

Using the onboard with a video card all comes down to the bios and whether the option is there. In something like yours it probably auto-disables the onboard when a video card is detected. If that is the case and there are no options in the bios to enable the onboard, then there isn't much you can do.

Quick question. Does the monitor only have a VGA port or does it have both? Also what kind of connections are available on the TV?

tv is "42" lg and has vga and s video, the graphics card has dvi with an adapter which makes it vga connector and an s video connector. Is there a connector to the dvi which would make the graphics card turn into a two vga connector to allow me to use the graphics card with two connectors? I will have a look at the bios just now,but form memory i dont think it has any thing about video cards on it.

You don't want to use a splitter as that will limit you to cloning on both displays, and will also limit it to the resolution of the one that is lowest.

If the TV has a s-video connector on it, why not use that between it and the card?

P.S. Full make and model of the video card would help. HD 2400 doesn't help much as there where many variations of them made by the various different card makers.
