Hi,
I use some software which is say ABC 123 version 1

There is a new update so now ABC 123 version 2

BUT version 2 has some of version 1 files deleted of which I still need to use.

If I try to install the version 2 software wants to repair / overwrite version 1

Please advise how I can have both on the same Win 7 pc so both can be used without being deleted / overwritten etc.

Many thanks.

Create a folder in program files called abc-1

copy the contents of the abc1 folder into it

install abc2

make a shortcut to the exe file in abc-1

Most software installs allow a user to specify an install directory. A paid-for product's update or upgrade can be tricky, however, SIW2 gave a great work-around. I'm also curious, what is the name and version/edition of that software?

Unless you specify what's the software, its hard to give an answer. I myself have multiple softwares running multiple versions. For instance, I have Opera 12.17 - pre-Chromium model & also 76.x as well. I hardly use both of them anyways.
