two stat hard drive question

i have been searching these forums for a while now, i have 2 sata hard drives one is a WD 1.5tb with windows 7 and windows vista installed.i just bought another WD 1.0tb hard drive what i am trying to do is hook both HD to one motherboard and run the hard drives as independant hard drives. now im not sure im using thecorrect terms here i dont know much about running multiple hard drives i would like to put them in the same machine using the one cd of windows 64 ultimate. (cant run xp anymore..trashed my old install disc.) anyway would i have to buy 2 seperate cd keys in order to use this one install cd on both hard drives? and how exactly would i go about installing both of these drives? any information would be of great help

You want to have Windows 7 installed on both drives? I believe you will need 2 product keys for that.

Each product key is good for 1 installation.

but, but both dirves are in the same machine? you mean to to tell me i payed over 200 bucks for this cd and i cant install it on 2 different hard drives in side the same machine? guess i could go back to xp 32 on my new 1tb hd....kind of a waste of all that new ram i bought. any other suggestions?

You can install two copies in a dual boot configuration, but only one can be activated at a time... hope this helps...

any way you can go in to more detail on this? my first time with 2 sata drives, and any info on sata hard drives set up as independant drives? im not even sure if im saying this right i just need some literature on HD raid types sate all that good stuff.
