two win 7 in two different HD

Hey,

I had a win 7 in my first hd, yesterday i added second HD, and installed a 64 bit ver on it. now when i'm booting i see the boot manager, and two option to be chosen are
Windows 7
Windows 7

is there any way to change those labels ?
some thing like
Windows 7 32
Windows 7 64

and second question, what would happen if i unplug the additional HD ?
the boot manager will disappear ?thanks for help !

If you unplugged a drive that wasn't the boot drive (system drive), then the OS will still be listed and not work. If you unplug the boot drive, then nothing will boot.

thanks for the answer...

when u mean "boot drive" u mean to the original drive that belongs to the machine, or u meant to the additional drive i added ? because on the both drives i've installed OS

The boot drive will be the drive that the first OS was installed onto and marked as the "Boot" drive in Disk Management (diskmgmt.msc).

and if i unplugged the non boot drive, as you said, the second OS still will present, how it can be deleted ?

You would only want to delete the second OS if you do not plan on connecting the non boot drive back. You could use the tutorial below to removed the second OS from the list if it's still there afterwards though.

The best way to boot OS's with multiple HD's is via the BIOS one-time Boot Menu key given on first bootup screen or in your Manual. This keeps the HD's independent to come and go as you please, whereas a Windows-created Multi-boot interlocks them.

Of course you need to keep the other OS HD unplugged during install to set this up in the first place, or recover the System Active MBR into a HD which is missing it to make it standalone before BIOS booting will work right.
