typing lag

I have a new Toshiba satellite laptop with Intel i5. I am frustrated to the enth degree with typing lag in outlook 2010 and also when trying to type in "search". Also in outlook when deleting messages there is a delay for each delet by about 2 seconds. My previous laptop is a Dell with intel centro and have not had this problem.I have had a tech look at this and cannot fault the hardrive,memory,or system..any help out there would be appreciated

Control panel>keyboard and check the repeat dely and repeat rate settings.
