UAC - Allow Per Program ?

Only one of dozens major annoyances with Windows 7. I've done searches, Googled the issue. Rarely do I find answers pinpointing my query. For ex. - each post I find on User Acct. Control either warns against turning it off / or repeats the notion that
a "program is trying to make CHANGES to my computer"??????????? Another cure gives you a registry hack that would fill 2-3 pages full.
Please - what the heck !! I'm trying to RUN a program , which I have installed, and
I want to use. Months back I found the means to turn this warning off for any program's .exe . I cannot find it anymore !
But then nearly everything about Vista and now, Windows 7 is made next to impossible to find. Guess I better try for one at a time. Maybe in a year I'll have the simple answer, or custom shortcut to what used to be such a simple task on XP.

You can lower the sensitivity. I dont know of a way to turn it off for a specific app without munging the reg which I refuse to do. My solution is to turn the annoying thing off.

Perhaps you already know this, but the reason you are being prompted is the apps in question were not designed to run in Vista/7. In XP programs were allowed to do things like make changes to files in the Windows directory, which in today's malware environment is a bad idea. The best solution is to find updated versions of apps that conform to the new security rules, but I understand that may not be possible. For Vista Symantec created an app called the Norton UAC Tool which does exactly what you want, but unfortunately it doesn't look like they will update it to work in Windows 7.
