hello.

Im newto these forums and windows 7 in general so i apologise in advance in asking such a newbie question.

But i am just wondering if uac popping up during windows update can affect anything? i decided to install some programs during the update and uac popped up balnking out the screen and making it appear that it froze the updates. Then some of the updates failed. So does windows update affect aything? if so ill install again.

Thank you and sorry again haha

Welcome to SevenForums.

You can pretty much do anything while Windows is updating that you can do any other time.
The UAC prompt doesn't affect running processes at all - merely the one that causes the prompt.
Assuming that the UAC prompts you got were for the installs you were doing, there shouldn't have been any side-effects on WU, or on the installs..

You will need to revisit Windows updates and attempt to install any that previously failed - make a note of which ones (if any) fail, and the associated error messages in the update history, and post the details in your response.
