Hi all, Wonder if you can help? every time i open my thunderbird icon on desktop i am prompted by the uac asking if "i want the following program to make changes to this computer". This has only started happening since i changed the thunderbird icon to a custom made one i have checked the properties of the program and the compatability tab to make sure the "run as administrator box" is not ticked also tried ticking the box but to no avail still being asked "if i want the following program to make changes to this computer"......:sarc:

Any help to solve this much appreicated.

Thanks

Steve08

P.S i am goin to bed will check back in mornin "very very long day....:sleepy:

how odd... are you running thunderbird in compatibility mode? that triggers a UAC prompt, also what level of UAC are you using?

thats why then, try upgrading thunderbird to the latest edition, which shouldnt need compatibility mode, that will make your prompts go away
