Ubuntu won't install on internal HD, forces to external USB drive

Did nothing yet. I will let you/all know. Meanwhile, the emails say, "There may also be other replies, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the forum again." So since it'll be a long time before I open the case and disconnect drives, maybe someone can weigh in with other ideas?Or not.

Update: to get rid of Ubuntu I used MiniTool to delete the partition, and then Win7 wouldn't boot, not surprised. So I booted on my Aomei Backupper disc and restored a recent boot image. All was well and still is. I still want some Linux and have tried a few Live CDs since:
Mint
PCLinux
debian-live-9.2.0-amd64-gnome.iso
exgent-gentoo-64bit-lxqt-mini-slim-1090mb-170412.iso
Sabayon_Linux_16.11_amd64_GNOME.iso
slackex-14.2-64bit-kde-nvidia-1600mb-170831.iso

They all had problems for me. The Debian wouldn't even boot. Then, foremost, some wouldn't respond to certain mouse clicks, such as closing a window or opening an app via its icon inside a window. And my mouse is standard Windows, no special drivers. Others had other peripheral hardware problems, such as seeing my 2 printers but being unable to select one (mouse?) or to print via CTRL-p, or seeing my sound output devices (standard external speakers and standard headphones) but not playing any sound out. Finally, I need a distro where Firefox and Thunderbird are built in, such as they are in Ubuntu. The Ubuntu software install process is made easy for beginners, I don't want to have to learn how to install 'packages' with their missing dependencies. I'm 71 and only really want a Linux as a secure and easy multi-boot in case of an unrecoverable Win7 failure. I may go back to Ubuntu minus that problem Kodi.

OK, I have 2 discs from 2015. Zorin 11 Core and Lubuntu 15.04. Booting the Live CDs, I really liked both. Zorin was able to play sounds for me, not so Lubuntu. Neither could print to my Canon MF210 BW laser. Maybe it's just a matter of installing the Canon driver into Linux? Also, Lubuntu 15.04 has that mouse problem where I can't close open windows or apps. OTOH my old Xubuntu 16.04 doesn't have that problem, just no sound or printing.

Now I've downloaded the new Zorin 12.2 Core and Lubuntu 17.04. I'm inclined to try the Zorin, but there seems to be a lot of bug reports vs less for the Zorin 11. Any advice on that, 12.2 vs 11 ?
