ugh, BSOD after removing device

hopefully this isnt related to my previous bsodding issues, reason l havent posted it with it is because its been weeks since my last one since removing my ram and that this BSOD happened while tech-ing my new wireless adapter (replaced the old one which has major speed fluctuations) however l will note that unlike my previous adapter this one shows the safely remove hardware icon in the task bar.

you see ld been in contact with TP-Link to find out why my TL-WN722N only achieves 65mbps they suggested l try it in another system, so l popped it into my laptop and it seems it happens there as well it wont achieve anywhere near what my router is capable of (allegedly its 144mbps).

the blue screen error happened directly after removing the wireless adapter from my PC to try it in my laptop to see if anything changed. l have run the dm collector tool and attached the information below.

As stated you have been having problems with this adapter. Have you tried completely uninstalling the drivers?

lve uninstalled easytune.

however with regards to the wireless adapter, my original adapter had the most issues, it was a (Tenda) W322U v2.0, the speed was all over the place despite excellent signal, the new adapter (TP-Link) TL-WN722N is more stable, no speed fluctuations whatsoever however considering its max speed is 150mbps l cant get it to connect faster than 65mbps which is annoying, the bsod l experienced was immediately after removing this adapter to test it in my laptop seeing if there was any difference, suffice to say the connection speed was exactly the same as my main system.

l was wondering if it would be... the thing is lm using the latest driver already which is from the gigabyte website.

its version is 3.0.0.16 (which to my knowledge is newer than the ones on the intel website), as for the intel website lve ran the detection wizard and it didnt pick up updated drivers for the usb (then again l didnt see them listed when l ran the detection wizard which is strange considering it picked up other hardware like my old wireless adapter).

GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1150 - GA-Z87-D3HP (rev. 1.x) (see the x64 page for the driver l have installed).

suffice to say lm using a driver provided by my motherboard manufacturer, the ones you have linked me to are generic drivers l guess? ld contemplate using them but l guess l would have to uninstall Gigabytes USB Blocker since ld assume that some of its dependencies would rely on Gigabytes own drivers, and then there is the matter of choosing the right ones (which lm not too sure about), however ld been trying to find out where ld look to see if the above issue was fixed if l do change drivers.

What I'd do in that situation is uninstall the eXtensible Host Controller, reboot and let Windows find the driver for it.

if l had not had ps2 keyboard lmao, l wouldnt have been able to do it XD realised after removing and deleting drivers that l couldnt do anything.

regardless ended up wasting a DVD to burn the drivers to, let windows search through the ones on disk l downloaded from intel (rather than gigabyte which ld been using which were the latest posted), lm now using the generic intel ones.

suffice to say is there any way to see if the new drivers are flagged without waiting for a bsod? ld been curious about it for a little while.

I uninstalled my eXtensible Host Controller in the past and after rebooting and waiting a while I could use my keyboard and mouse again after Windows found the drivers. The panic does set in for a while though.

There's no real way to see if the drivers are stable other than through performance and lack of BSODs unfortunately. Let us know how you go along and we'll be here to support you through it.

kinda annoying, if l get another one l'll post a message tho tbh pulling my wireless from the usb seemed to cause my last one.. but ld rather not go looking for bsods

as for drivers, windows didnt find them.. then again l guess you meant windows update? which wouldnt have happened since l dont connect via lan so had to resort to a ps2 keyboard, my usual setup is both usb mouse/keyboard but with drivers removed l had to reset the comp to get any kinda input, just glad l know enough to get around a computer with a keyboard and no mouse .

Yeah, apologies for that. I suppose that's a lesson learned for me that not everybody is connected to the net via LAN, I won't take that for granted in future!

lve always opted for wireless as lve lost 2 computers which power surges were tacked as coming through the lan, which is why lve always opted for wireless.
