Hi , i just installed an icon pack which i had to turn off UAC & then turn it back on again when finished.
I went to open the Prefetch folder via Run command got the usual alert and continued then i got this

What was the souce of the pack. If it was a reliable company, you should be ok. If you just found it through Google, etc. I would not give permission.
Your computer and everything that you have on it, is too valuable to endanger due to a icon pack.

As to what it actually is, I do not know, but it could be a problem.

You may want to wait for other opinions, but mine probably would not be changed

Edit: Your Anti Virus and firewall is not your first defense against malware; you are.

Thank you Richc, yes it was a reliable source and i have used this pack before.
Everything has been scanned from source to operating system & no probs.
What baffles me is why it only appears when i try to open PREFETCH folder which in reallity should have no relevance to the icons anyway?
But possibly to the turning off then on of UAC

Well I am curious...why are you opening the prefetch folder in the first place?

To edit out the setup entry that i had that was created when the installer was run, as it is not required by prefetch anymore.

Mr Grim, I trust this thread isnt going to go way off topic about the do & donts of prefetch folders as the qestion is does anyone know the origins of EDIT SECURITY as in the attached picture in the first post
