Solved Unable to boot from disc

Hi
I've written a disc so that I can install windows XP and dual boot it with windows 7 which is already installed. I've slipped the drivers for the hard drive (sata) into the installation disc, but when I try to boot from the disc, I get the screen in the attached photo. Is there anyway I can get the CD to boot?

Try again using the one-time BIOS Boot Menu key by tapping HP ESC key at boot.

If this fails you likely have a bad burn or slipstream so you may need to do it over. Burn the disk using ImgBurn.

Have you considered virtualizing XP within Win7 which is a preferred option now that XP is XPired?

It's not the same PC as in the other thread, it's a custom build. And yes I have considered it but I specifically need XP, with access to all of the resources.

Just a thought but could it be, as the hard drive uses SATA connections, which aren't supported by xp natively, could the reason the disc isn't booting because it also uses a SATA connection which is unsupported. Could that be a cause?

UEFI motherboard. You've got the manual for it?

Maybe, if it was in the box it is probably still there. I can't look for it now though. Why do you ask?

Booting from newer UEFI based motherboards is different than booting from the decades old BIOS based motherboards. I don't have enough experience with UEFI to recommend anything, but I do know they are more restictive in what can be booted. That may be why you're having trouble booting from that disc you burned.

The manual likely refers to how you can turn off the restrictions, allowing more flexible booting options.

Boot into BIOS setup to see if there is an EFI Boot Disk in the BIOS Boot order. If so, remove it.

Then wipe the HD with Diskpart Clean Command followed by the command Convert MBR, then Exit. try Install.

I'm guessing the UEFI is what your referring to. How do I delete it? Do I have to wipe the hard drive? A while back you said it may be a bad burn.

UEFI is "built" into the motherboard. You don't delete it, you temporarily bypass it to allow booting from the external media you're trying to use.

A suggestion is that you use SPECCY (link in my signature) so that you can fill in the model info for your computer in your System Specs.

Yes, I know that but it's not the best option, as firstly this setup isn't for me, its for someone who doesn't understand vitalizing so decided it would be easier to install an OS he is familiar with. Secondly, the program that the person wants to run is requires a lot of resources, so running two OS's simultaneously will slow it down. Basically, vitalizing is out of the question.

It's XP 64bit (page 31) that im trying to install, incase you don't know.

And the PC listed in this accounts specs, isn't the one I'm trying to do this on.
