I am trying to install direct x redist however at the end of the installation, the program terminates with an error which says

A cabinet file required for installation is not to be trusted. Please verify that that the Cryptographic Services are enabled and the cabinet file certificate is valid.

I have no idea how to solve this and any assistance will be appreciated.

Have you tweaked your running services at all?

might be worth checking anyway incase a application has stopped it or its crashed so try doing the following:

Right-Click 'My Computer' and goto 'Manage', double-click 'Services and Applications' and click 'Services'.
check in the main list that 'Cryptographic Services' says its started. (If not, right-click and start it.)

Thanks, I checked the running services and the Cryptographic Services has already started but the problem still remains.
