Unable to install software.

Hi all.

Im currently running Win 7 64bit O/S, new install so hopefully no viruses yet.

O/S working fine. I have tried to install several different pieces of software but i get an error message along the lines of 'unable to install, only win 7 programs will be installed'

I have checked and double checked that i have the correct software and tested it on another computer with same O/S, they work fine.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Can you post a screenshot of a failure error message on your system? You can use the snipping tool to capture the error message window if necessary.

What are you trying to install?

What account are you using?

What is the EXACT message when the install fails?

I don't have all the info to hand right now, unfortunately im at work

Im using WIN7 64Bit

Logged on as administrator

Software : Downloaded Samsung mobile phone interface, Disc install m/soft office 2010.

I will post the actual error message when i get home. Error message appears as text only with no error code.

What you describe does not sound like an error message, it sounds as if the installer is telling you that only windows 7 compatible programs will be installed.

A little more information for you.

Error message reads.

'This setup is intended for windows 7 please download another version.'

As previously stated, the software has been double checked as win 7 products and work fine on other computers with same OS.

Download the attached file, rename from "buildinfo.vbs.txt" to "buildinfo.vbs", and double-click the .vbs file to run it. It should output some text into a command prompt window - please paste that info back here.
