unable to login

hi all,

just got a new computer and i went thru the set up and put in a password i've been using for years.
i then downloaded drivers for my mouse etc.. and windows updates. now i'm unable to login to the computer under normal operation. when i launch in safe mode i'm able to login and create a password recovery file. i also tried to change my password in safe mode. when i reboot i'm still not able to login. i tried the password recovery and was allowed to change my password. but the new password is also not working. does anyone have any ideas on what is happening. i've never seen this before.

thanks, fixed by doing a restore. read somewhere that chrome and google can cause this. i restored back to yesterday and i can log back in. thank god it was that simple.
