Hi guys,

I have a win7 machine which is unable to perform windows updates and has other issues.(http://www.sevenforums.com/general-...ws-error-unknown-publisher-windows-files.html)
Each time I try to perform an update I get an error message. It doesn't matter whether I do one update at a time or all. The error messages are not the same for each time I try.
I'm guessing the two issues are related but am struggling to find a solution.

Sean.

Ok here's what I have done. I've used the scannow command but it didn't find anything, I ran it a few times as it recommended to do so.
I tried the windows update reset but that didn't work either.
It's a bit hard to get access to the machine as it's in another state and is used for much of the day. I would really like to be able to get my hands on it but unfortunately I can't. :(

I'm reading through the post given to me by the moderator, hopefully I'll get a chance today to get access to the machine.

Well I'm unable to fix this machine remotely, really wish I could get my hands on it, so I have to someone in to look at it for me. I'll post any info I can when it's done.

Did you run the System Update Readiness tool? Post back the CBS log.

If this does not fix it I would do a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html?ltr=R. Be sure to turn everything off at startup in msconfig>Startup and >Services after Hiding All MS Services. Read closely what is involved so you can have your partner ready on the other end to support it once it goes into boot mode.

Didn't get a chance too gregrocker. Out of my hands now but I'm hoping to get information on what is done.

Just an update. I haven't received this machine yet but will post my findings when I get my hands on it.
