I bought windows 7 upgrade, 32 bit, and loaded it onto my home pc and laptop, the home computer is working great but the laptop has a black screen and insists that it is operating with an illegal copy and keeps asking to register the product key, which in turn is rejected by Microsoft - Can anyone help with this problem?

hi LizzyOK and welcome to sevenforums,

bad news i'm afraid, you're not allowed to use the same key on two pcs.

you'll need a different serial number for your laptop...

Decide which computer you wish to use the license for - only one at a time.

On the other computer, type CMD into Start Search box, rightclick result, Run as Administrator, type:

slmgr -upk

This will uninstall current installed product key and return license status back to 30-day trial state. You can extend the trial, or buy a new Product key to insert during that time.
