Unable to restore system

Well, unfortunately, I´m having the same problem of PaulyC.
"show more restore points dates" IS checked but it does not show anything before 16 december, TWO days ago.
I really need to restore to 14 december (4 days ago).
Any help, please?

My notebook is brand new, I got it on december 14. I followed the trick to remove the libraries folder, and then I noticed my "save as../open file" dialog left panel is grayed out/gone. This is why I need to restore to 14 december.
I checked the button "show more dates" but the oldest date is 16dec.

So I guess you have no Dec. 14 restore point. You can double check as follows:

1. Open Command prompt (in Start>All Programs>Accessories), right click on Command Prompt and "Run as admin".

2. type: vssadmin list shadows and hit Enter

3. That will show all restore points. They are dated and time stamped.

But if you have none from Dec. 14, you need to reinstall. That should not be too much trouble since the PC is so new. Just make sure you backup your user data first. Alternatively you can create a seperate partition and move your user data there. A reinstall wipes only the OS partition.

For the future I recommend you image your system from day1. Then you could have recovered in 20 minutes.
