Today while listening to a song. My computer restarted with a BSOD. It then asked me to repair my computer saying that some boot record is corrupt. I repaired my computer from the cd. It works fine but now i can only see my C: and no other drives are being shown though the data is still there. Please someone help since the data is very important to me. I cant see the remaining three partitions in my computer..

See if you can copy out your data using the Win7 DVD or Repair CD: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console - Windows 7 Forums

Please be more specific about where you can see your missing partitions - are they under Computer? What happens when you try to open them?

Exactly what did you do to make the Repairs from CD? Is there a second HD as this one is showing only one partition. It shouldn't really revert to a single partition on HD unless you change it yourself. So tell us exactly what steps you took.

If everything should be on the same HD, boot free Partition Wizard bootable CD, from the Wizards tab select "Partition Recovery" have it do a scan to see if it finds the missing partitions. You may need to shrink C back to it's original offset for the recovered partitions to be restored.

This is an important lesson in always keeping your data backed up externally. If you can't afford an external HD, or it won't fit on DVD's, then you can send it over the network to another computer, or use up to 25gb of free storage on Skydrive with each Windows Live ID - google it.

How many physical hard disk drives do you have in the system and how big are they?

I ask this because if you say only one and that the total size of that drive is 320GBs then I am sorry to tell you your data is gone. Disk management shows 1 disk with a partition size of 298GBs. That is the actual size of what hard drive makers call a 320GB disk.

How do you know the data is still there? Can you access it? Do the folders for the data show when you look at the C Partition/drive with Win Explorer? Do you still have the original programs installed and do they show on the start menu and you can run them?

If you do have only 1 physical disk in the system it seems that the repair you did somehow combined all the original partitions into one big partition.

There may be a way to recover these partitions and SOME of the data on them but I have never had to do that and I'm unsure as to how.

Hello. One opinion. Why you don't boot Linux distro as live cd,and check the hdd for partitions?
If there are partitions,it should be showed in Linux.

Do you know what the total size of the drive is? Is it bigger then 320GBs?

In that other screen shot you posted of the setup asking where to install to it only shows 1 partition of 298GBs.
How many partitions did you have?
What kind of PC is this, maker?
Did you use a manufacturers supply recovery disk to do the repair?

If you have a flash stick installer, then boot it to follow the steps I gave earlier to try to access and copy out your data: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console - Windows 7 Forums

Then write the Partition Wizard bootable CD ISO to flash stick using Win2flash USB method

Boot PW, highlight HD, on Wizard tab select Partition Recovery Wizard, scan for lost partitions.

Are you sure there were separate partitions, as you'd really have to delete them for them to disappear.

Glad it helped.

Did you discover how your C partition got extended to the full HD?

Did you have to resize it to fit the recovered partitions back on?
