Not sure if this is the right section, apologies if it's not. When I try to send a file or photo to be burnt onto the DVD, it doesn't work. I right click on the file/photo I want to send to the DVD drive, and click on 'Send to > DVD RW Drive (F:)'.

I then get a box in the middle of the screen saying 'Windows Explorer has stopped working - Windows is checking for a solution to the problem' That box then disappears and another appears saying 'Windows explorer is restarting'. I still get the small box appearing at the bottom of the screen telling me that I have files waiting to be burned to the disc, but whenever I click that box, there are no files on it.

The disc drive still works because I can get a file or photo to burn with a bit of a work around. I can right click on the file/photo, then click on 'Open In > Paint'. Then from paint, I can save the file or photo to the disc drive to be burnt. Bit long winded though.

Would appreciate any ideas as to what's going wrong.

Have a look in Device Manager & see if you have any yellow exclamation marks, particularly the CD-DVD ROM drives. If so a driver update might fix it.

DVD drives are not all that expensive these days so it might be worth installing a new one.

Thanks for your reply. Just had a look at device manager, and no exclamation marks.

However, I don't think it's the DVD drive, as it works when I 'Save As' from Paint. Also since my original post, I have tried dragging a file/photo from one folder to another. Same thing happens, and dragging doesn't involve the DVD drive at all, so I think the answer lies elsewhere.
