hi,
i have a problem deleting a directory from my desktop.
a while ago i installed a program (wich was working fine) and afterwards i was installing another program. during this install my pc crashed and deleted both of the programs.

i couldnt reinstall the first program becouse the computer was thinking that the program was already installed but couldnt remove it either. so (maybey stupid) i cut the broken files out of programfiles and pasted them as backup on my desktop. later i was able to reïnstall the program.

but now when i try to delete the folder it sais im not autorized to delete it, however i am logged in as administrator.

i already tryd following things to delete it:
-cmd commands del filename and del /f filename
-the program unlock me
-get the ownership of the folder with cmd commands
-startup in safemode
-...

nothing gave any results
i hope someone can help me

thx and greets,
camo

Hi Camo and welcome to Windows 7 Forums

You could try booting into a live version of Linux (this runs directly from the CD/DVD, and does not save any information to your HDD), and see if you can delete the file/folder from there. You will need to browse to the folder in question. This method quite often succeeds where others don't.

Here you go: Download Ubuntu | Ubuntu

Ubuntu is a popular version, that is similar enough to Windows and Mac that you should have little trouble finding your way around.

Download and burn the CD, then boot from it. When it asks you if you want to install, run Memtest, or "Try Ubuntu without any changes to the computer", choose the latter.
