My computer continuously shutdowns every hour or so without any warning. When the computer loads back up a message pops up telling me that I have had an unexpected shutdown. If I click on more information it shows me what the error was (I have the error message copied if you wish to see it) but it makes no sense to me.

I have looked around for a solution but my error message is different to everyone elses.

If anyone could help me with this problem it would be much appreciated, thank you in advance.

Specs:

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo
RAM: 2GB
Graphics card: ATI Radeon X1600 Series
Previous OS: Windows XP Media Center Edition

Update your TV card drivers:
Code:
Ph3xIB64.sys Fri May 08 17:11:49 2009

The dump is blaming your Microsoft Audio Drivers. Try right-clicking on the Sound device in Device Manager (devmgmt.msc in the start menu), and selecting Update Driver Software.

I see you upgraded from another OS, my best guess is Vista. Have you run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor?

If not, install it from here: Free Download PC Upgrade Advisor Windows 7 Hardware Programs Issues

Please report what it says.

You may consider a custom install.

I'm currently not on my computer that is having the issues as I am at work but I will try and answer some/all of your questions.

I have already gone through all the drivers in Device Manager, right clicked them all and selected Update Driver. All of them said they were up-to-date.

Yes I did upgrade from another OS, I used to have Windows XP Media Center Edition 32-bit installed.

I used Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor before I installed Windows 7 and it said all was good to install Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. It did however say that I would only be able to do an Custom install and not an Upgrade, so I did.

I will run Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor again, though, to see if it says anything about Audio drivers/Tv card drivers if that's what you wanted to know.

So are the dump files all saying that the issue is my Audio driver and that's it?

Thank you so much for your help so far :D

Did you do the workaround to upgrade to 7 by going through Vista?

I suggest a custom install at this point.

The dumps blamed your Microsoft Audio drivers. What sound card do you have?

the best thing to do is to

open start menu, right-click on computer then click on manage

on the sdcreen that opens click on device manager

then on sound video and game controllers

click on each of them then uninstall the driver, then restart your pc

you will then need to get your windows disk or a disk or file with the drivers on it

then go back to that menu after restart

then click on update/install and click on browse my compter or the internet

Let's hold off on that for the time being. We can see the driver dates in the dumps, and Windows Update doesn't usually find the latest drivers.

No I didn't go through Vista. I had Windows XP Media Center Edition and just inserted the Windows 7 Ultimate install disc and installed it from there.

I did a Custom install.

did you use an upgrade cd?

because if you did by default it keeps some of the files unless you reformat when you install it

I didn't use an Upgrade CD, I used the full installation CD.

When I did the Custom install it did however keep my old files in a folder named windows.old which was on my C drive.
