Solved Unexpected Shutdowns occuring daily if PC left on over night

Usually, when I go to bed, I leave my PC in hibernation mode (or off altogether.)
But quite often, if I need to export anything or leave a certain process running, then I will leave it doing that overnight.

When I first got this PC, I had similar issues which I assumed was caused by overheating (as the stock cooler wasn't great), so if I was exporting a video it was reaching 70-80c.

Now I'm encountering the same issue, but I don't think it's related to over heating. For example today, I exported an hour long video during the day (and whilst I was using the PC for other things) then it was running fine. Yet leaving another video (of a similar length) to export overnight and the PC has switched itself off within 30 minutes.

The error in the event log reads:
General:
The previous system shutdown at 23:37:09 on ‎30/‎08/‎2016 was unexpected.

Thanks for the welcome.

I am using Core Temp (1.4) Primarily to check temperature. I ran speedfan (4.52) along side it a little bit earlier and the two seemed to agree on temperature.

The first update you reference was already installed (KB3020369) and the second said 'The Update is not applicable to your computer.'

I ran speedfan for a longer time this evening and I noticed that it had 'CPU' labelled as well as the cores. The CPU was slightly hotter than the cores were (2 or 3c)

When I tried to export something last night, I used task manager to limit it to 3 cores running and there was no crash, I'm starting to think that maybe it is overheating.

I'm now convinced it was an overheating problem. Added a second fan to my CPU heatsink and not experienced a crash since.

Hi,
An easy fix then :)
I requested some help here to test the memory... which I'm not familiar with the process :(
