Hello:

In Control Panel, > Sound > Sounds tab, I have Sound Scheme = No Sounds and the checkbox "Play Windows Startup Sound" is unchecked. Still, whenI start Windows, at the end, there is a sound (I have not found it among the Win /wav files).

Is there any way it can be a system sound, or would it be an application (not UltraMon, my multimonitor/wallpaper app?

Thanks for any suggestion.

Regards,

Hans L

You've determined that the sound is NOT the standard Win startup sound, nor any of the standard sounds found in the Windows sound folder; unfortunately, that still leaves a lot of processes/programs that might generate it.

If immensely curious, you can get Sysinternals autoruns, and disable each of the startup/logon processes one by one (trial and error?), and perhaps find it by process of elimination..?

I am immensely curious :-) I will try Autoruns. Thanks.
